We need something new....

Hey so I know I've not been maintaining this blog too well...to be honest it's been a confusing couple of months of wondering what I want to do with my life, especially regarding fashion. I don't know yet if I'm going to keep this blog as it doesn't have a specific direction so I've decided to create a blog that will cater to a problem I'm sure a lot of people have : seeing pictures of an amazing outfit but not knowing where to get the clothes. SO! I am making a blog dedicated to making outfits inspired by street/celebrity style.

will post the url once I've....well, decided on a name, hah.

In a bit! x

This just came in the mail...

Hmm...I like the name....but I need a proper template designer.

This looks a bit messy to me...not happy :( Don't want to spend all day on this though so I'll sort it out when I have time.

Well I just thought of a new blog name :D

Blah! Blog image overhaul...again :P

I've been looking...and looking at this blog and thinking of how I can improve it...and I realised what's been bugging me...it looks very busy! Time to redo. Perhaps a new blog name too...let's see how it goes.

Music Love - Alex Clare

I kept hearing this song on the new Internet explorer ads and just fell in love with it. So thanks to my Track ID on my phone (seriously, Shazam, Track ID and Soundhound are godsent.) I found out the name of the artist, Alex Clare. I don't really like to hear someone new and get just that one song as I end up fearing I may be missing out of further awesomeness and...I'm so glad I downloaded this guy's album. It's like...well...an edgier version of Jamie Woon's (marry me?) Mirrorwriting.

See if you guys agree and check out his songs!

One of my favourites:

Boredom + Curiosity + Nail Polish =

I've been looking at a lot of nail tutorials on youtube and saw this really amazing one with water and thought 'Oooooh....messy...but OOOOOH, science!', so I thought I'd have a go. Not completely successful, but not bad for my first try lol! Watch a tutorial for this here.

This is a mix of three different polishes. the first coat is E.L.F nail polish in Dark Navy. I then used CND nail effects in Sapphire and Sally Hansen in Hidden Treasure for the little and ring finger.

I got a silver glitter OPI nail polish in a goodie bag (This I believe is in the Serena Williams Collection) and did two layers of that then a chunky glitter Forever 21 polish that I got in New York so I'm not sure if it's in the UK but you can use any chunky glitter polish.

This style really shows up why I love the holographic flaking of the Sally Hansen polish. This was used with Avon Nailwear Pro in Wicked and as you can see it shows up reds, oranges, browns and greens. SO pretty.

Regular glitter polish I found lying around. Glamour.

Review Time: ASOS HAUL.

Hi all! So I'm going to do a review of the two dresses I recently bought in the ASOS sale (Still ongoing, btw!), starting off with the dress I LOVE.

Sweet mama, how I adore this dress. I got the cream version and it's just so...flattering. it's not as hyper girly as I thought it would be (I'm a bit funny about dresses sometimes.) It falls in the right places, the hem doesn't come up too high in the front and it's so versatile!

Now...the one I sent back..*tears.*

Well. the only thing that can be said is...if you have big boobs, wide hips and are 5'7 and under...this is so not the dress for you.

Hmph.

Drake - Take Care

I can't say I'm a drake fan but.....dude. This song. The video. It's so...simple and..just stunning. This style of music is right up my street. Amazing.

New Hairstyle Idea:

It's pretty fly. I've never done a style like this but couldn't hurt to have a go, right? :P

I will love you 'til the end of time...

Hey guys :) SO. Update time (writing while battling hayfever sniffles.). First things first I am currently bricking it....I managed to get a dream interview with VICTORIA'S SECRET! XD So if anyone sees me doing backflips down Oxford St, you'll know I got the job.

Next...uh...yes. Next, I've been doing a lot of nail art recently, so will be posting the pictures I've taken so far and how to's with the colours used.

Finally....a few months, I've done some proper shopping! Online, to be fair but still haha.

Just bought these from ASOS yesterday:

Lana Del Rey- Blue Jeans

The song in itself is beautiful. But the video is....wow. One of the most stylish and classy recent music videos I've seen in a LONG time. See folks? You don't always have to be next to naked and autotuned.

Madonna- Girl Gone Wild

Just saw the video for Madonna's new song Girl Gone Wild. I didn't at first get into the hype but I saw that it was up so I thought I'd have a look. It is GIVING ME EVERYTHING. I mean the song is good, but the video is like some fabulous Vogue throwback. And I do love Vogue.

Watch the video here (sucky sound, but appreciate the visuals!)

And the outrageously fabulous guys dancing in heels? Kazaky. God, I love them.

UPDATE!
This is better. Plus I prefer this song.

FABULOUS.

Miss Piggy in Brian Atwood. Love it.

New picture time.

Hey guys :P. So...not much has changed from the last time I've posted. I'm still looking around for a job as feeling like a bum is nooooot cool and uh...yeah. Nothing really of note haha. I'm gonna be making more of an effort to post self pictures and stuff I do with nails and makeup..hauls as well. I found out about flaked holographic nail polish recently so I thought I'd give it a go and I gotta tell you, the results are BRILLIANT. Review + pics coming soon!

My soon to be Pretties.....

AAAAAAAAAMAHGHAD I LOVE THEM.
Office Neneh (awesome name as well.) , £40.

Sup, Y'all. Quick Update!

ALRIGHTY. I've been a bit quiet but to be fair I've been rather all over the place hah so doing a quick update.

1. I had a couple interviews. One turned out to be SUPER dodgy so that didn't happen. The other...was just fail. So we keep on keepin' on with that, I guess.

2. Not gonna be doing the Harrods Glossybox as I found out what was in it and Bar the Burberry lipstick, I already buy the products in it.

3. I gained one of my BIGGEST Ebay scores...these babies:

Cheap Monday Monolit Wedges that I have been PERVING over for quite some time. Got them on ebay for 17 quid. Amazing. Just...AWESOME. *happy dance*

I also saw these shoes on a few fashion week blogs and then I saw Alexa Chung wearing them to the NME Awards 2012 so I was quite lucky to find them and win for 7 pounds!

Now it's not the best picture of them and I did forget the designer of these shoes but believe me when I say they're a GREAT copy.

And....hmm. Yeah...that's it for updates for now!

Dorothy Perkins Haul/Review!

Well a couple hours after updating the previous post, I got my delivery of three trousers from Dorothy Perkins in the sale....here's what I think of them:

This is the first pair I tried on, the black coated super skinny jeans that were £15. I liked the fact that they looked a little bit like matte PU leather because I have tried and failed MASSIVELY to carry off faux leather pants in the past, usually the material was far too shiny or was a bad fit. I tried these on actually prepared to send them back in disappointment and was instead pleasantly surprised. The material is not at all stiff, and has a very lovely and ever so slight sheen to it. They're cut brilliantly as well as with a lot of jeans/trousers I get the issue of either getting the weird crotch pouch or the extremely uncomfortable cutting off feeling on the leg. They are so versatile as well and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of them. KEEPING.

I also bought these tapered leg trousers in the wine red and navy colours. These...were disappointing. I bought a size larger than normal as from previous experience, Dorothy Perkins trousers can come up kinda small. Not that it helped, hah. They're really lovely trousers to look at, however all the trouser issues that I stated before were all the problems with these ones. definitely does not fit as well at the waist and thighs and so I did not bother trying the other pair. Shame, really. RETURN.

D.I.Y. : Novelty Boots

Here's a lovely D.I.Y. post I found on ASOS.com on how to make your own Meadham Kirchhoff style novelty boots!

Balmain Fall 2012

The Skirt

The Jumper

The Jacket

The Trousers, Oh my GOD the trousers!

Marni for H&M

I'm sure everyone and their mother has already heard about the newest designer collaboration from H&M, Marni for H&M. I recently saw the commercials (directed by Sofia Coppola ) and they are just stunning. From the lighting, the music (Roxy Music - Avalon. I LOVE this song.) to the relaxed vibe, I think it suits the collection beautifully. Now, onto my favourite picks:

Marni for H&M: Marni for H&M
Dress, £69.99

Love the print mix on this dress, would look great belted with wedges and sunglasses.

Marni for H&M: Marni for H&M

Blouse, £59.99, shorts, £34.99

Pyjama suits are big news right now but don't be scared by this, you can wear the shorts with a white vest and heels for a simple summer look and the blouse opened up as a relaxed jacket.

Marni for H&M: Marni for H&M

Skirt, £39.99

This to me is the 'anytime, anywhere, anyhow' skirt. It can work as daywear, workwear, and evening wear.

Marni for H&M: Marni for H&M
Necklace, £34.99, collar, £19.99, shoes, £69.99

Can definitely see these selling out within the first two days so grab them while you can!

Marni for H&M: Marni for H&M

Shirt, £34.99, shorts, £29.99

Menswear, however I still love the shirt. I'm seeing this shirt being worn relaxed with well cut white trousers and a nude heel.

*update* Review may come a bit later...my stuff hasn't been delivered yet ><

Note to self: Logic is your friend.

So yeeeeeah. Today's been interesting. I kind of got punched in the heart by this wave of feelings..a kind of mix of misery, hyperactivity, confusion and blah blah blah. Don't really know why that happened but I have to keep the logical side of me around more. I don't do moronic crap then, hah.

Hole - Celebrity Skin

AH! Before I forget. The Stylistpick talk w/ Grace Woodward.

So a week or so ago, I got an invite to go to a week of talks for Stylistpick.com @ Westfield. This was to promote their pop up shop, lasting for 10 days. This past Saturday, I went to Grace Woodward's talk and it was...awesome. Just really enlightening. The lady herself was very cool and glamourous even in ripped jeans! When I got to ask my question to her, I asked her 'how do I stop myself from psyching myself out of wearing daring things that I do actually like?' and the one thing that stayed with me was her saying ''we’re the only statement we have.”

Image from stylistpick.com. (You can see the back of my head next to the lady with the mac on LOL.)

At the end of the talk we all got a lovely little goodie back including a Wella hair texturiser, Hotel Chocolat Pink Champagne Truffles, the Illamasqua lipstick I did the earlier review on, a lovely steam cream I'll review later and a couple of vouchers I shall DEFINITELY be using!

I stayed up till 5am to watch the Oscars.

That was the first time I've ever done that, but I have just joined twitter (sold out, lol) and thought I'd do live commentary just because. The winners weren't a shocker (though Gary Oldman should've won an Oscar just for being great) but I stayed up mainly for the fashion. Now before I got on to my other favourites....allow me a moment to swoon over this woman.
 From beautyisdiverse.com

The hair. The colour. THE SKIN. Viola Davis is flawless. I just could not get over how beautiful she looked. The green of this Vera Wang gown was perfect for her and she was just glowing. I don't really get all the shock over her wearing her natural hair but I do agree that she should wear the wigs less often. This is THE look for her.

ibtimes.co.uk

I did really like what Jennifer Lopez wore as well even though it's sort of a staple look for her now.

Stacey Kiebler (Former WWE Diva) wore Marchesa.

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. I love the fact that you can just look at this gown and know it's McQueen.

Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka. I would so wear this.
